Bro Town

The atmosphere in the house is relaxing, everybody goes about his or her way and we all meet up in the evenings or on the weekends. Certain weekends are dedicated to surfing and coastal walks and some are full on parties where most of Byron Bay finds themselves at 6 Cumbebin Park...! Leaving the garden all the way to the bathroom a bombsite......
"Hi who are you?"
"Oh im a friend of thingy's and you, who do you know?"
"Well i kind of live here, your in my house...."
" Oh...er nice house mate!"

The sitting room is very communal and although it's kitched out with old sofas and holey armchairs, we have a very nice flat screen tv...... A boys house basically!
There are surf boards and bits of surf boards kind of everywhere, from in the garden (short boards with broken noses) to the bedrooms (the latest DHD shortboard)...
The wetsuits dry slowely on the undercover line like an army of black shadows...

At night the giant bats hurl and screech in the trees around the house and the bush turkeys hijack our compost bins and steal the passion fruits.
The pool is never used, maybe because we are so close to the beach, and the BBQ which is fairly ancient, is a bit dangerous (flame thrower) but we can still get a good steak out of it!
Under our terrace at the front of the house, we are sheltering a family of little snakes (!!!) and they regularly get curious and come out to play... Unfortunatly some cannot escape Gabe's tyres and after about a day, the ants have had their feast and only the little bones are left...

Australians are used to traveling long distances, probably beacause their country is so damn big. So jumping in the car and driving 80km to Tweeds Head at 10pm to go shopping is considered normal....(!) Memory of our midnight shopping trip with Gabe, Andy and Monique
